The Kālī Ma Initiation Ritual on the Full Thunder Moon
I welcome you to join us in this group ritual to unite with the Dark Goddess of Left-Hand Tantra, Kālī Ma, to evoke her blessings and seek her guidance in your magick ascent.
Kali Ma is the Hindu goddess associated with time, death, destruction, and transformation, but also liberation and fierce compassion. Her name is translated to English as:
She embodies the infinite womb of the void from which all things arise and to which all return.
Kali is often depicted as a dark, wild, and fearsome goddess dancing upon a corpse, wearing a garland of skulls, with bloodied hands and tongue sticking out in mockery of her enemies.
But there is more to Kali than the bloody icons, as she is also revered as the Mother Goddess who destroys the ego and illusions that bind the soul, thus birthing us into the greater mystery at all times. In some Tantric traditions, Kali is even seen as the Ultimate Reality itself, embodying both the terrifying and the liberating aspects of the cosmos.
Keenan Arthur, author of The Left Hand Path of Tantra, and I, EA Koetting, bring the culmination of our combined decades of worship and devotion to Kali Ma into full manifestation through this rite.
This is a ceremony of deep tantric initiation, as well as a ritual of full rebirth, and we thank you for joining us in it!
Keenan Arthur and I, E.A. Koetting, have both devoted years of our lives to the worship of Kālī Ma, and we have locked on to the pujas, the devotions and the practices that draw us nearer to The Dark Mother.
We will utilize the most powerful mantras, yantras and devotions in our arsenal to connect with Kālī Ma and to ask her to initiate you into her dark mysteries.
While our devotional rituals may be quite elaborate on our end, all that you’ll need to do on your end is to watch the ritual video that you will receive once the ritual is complete, and connect to Kālī Ma through the mantras:
Om Kālī Ma
Krīṃ Kālikāye Namaḥ
If you would like to go even deeper than simply chanting mantras while watching the video, Keenan Arthur has included a full Kali Puja ritual below that you can perform to fully immerse yourself in this current!
If you know what obstacles are holding you back, if you already know exactly what addictions or habits you need help breaking, or if you already have a good idea of what needs to change in your life and yourself, then write them down. You can see these things as offerings that you are making to The Dark Mother, for her to devour and transmute.
Many of the ways that Kali’s force may manifest in your life are:
You are invited to focus this ritual on the specific kind of abundance that you need in your life, or you can simply leave the door open for this ritual to manifest exactly what you need!
Pūjā is a form of ritual evocation common in South Asia that involves making magical and symbolic offerings to a deity who represents some aspect of Reality. While Tantric pūjās can be quite complicated (instructions for a Tantric pūjā are in the book), the essence of the practice is simple: giving offerings to a deity in a spirit of love to create a tangible link between the deity and the individual through those offerings.
It’s a give-and-take relationship, and Reality will respond in the manner that you approach it in. So, if we honor Kālī as a deity who symbolically represents the destructive aspect of the universal life force (prāṇa śakti) by treating her like a beloved mother, she will respond to us with motherly love. This ritual is a highly recommended way to connect to the current of Left-Hand Path Tantra during the group rite on July 10th, 2025.
If you already have an image of Kālī (statue, tapestry, painting, etc.) and a mālā (a rosary of 108 beads for mantra meditation), you can use them in this ritual. If not, you can use Kālī’s Yantra as an image of Kālī, which is shown below. This can be printed out, or it can be drawn/traced on a piece of paper or traced into the dirt somewhere outside. Draw-ing/tracing it by hand is more powerful, but it can be difficult to draw the shapes perfectly (do your best). For this ritual, prepare at least the following offerings:
On the night of the group rite, prepare your Kālī image/yantra where you can comfortably sit in front of it and set the offerings within reach. After any preparatory practices you would like to do, sit up with an erect spine, relax your body, and take a few long, deep, even breaths. Light the candle(s). Recite the following mantra 108 times (or as many times as you feel called to), and do your best with pronunciation with worrying about it too much:
oṃ gaṃ gaṇapataye namaḥ
This mantra honor Gaṇapati/Gaṇeśa, the lord of beginnings and obstacles who is the first deity honored in virtually any Hindu ritual to en-sure its success and remove obstacles. Next repeat the mantra for the primordial guru Dattātreya 108 times:
oṃ drāṃ dattātreyāya namaḥ
Dattātreya is an esoteric guide for many left-handed tāntrikas, triple-god who combines the essence of Brahmā (creator), Viṣṇu (preserver), and Śiva (destroyer). Finally, repeat a Kālī mantra 108 or more times, feeling your heart cakra in the center of the chest expand as you do so:
oṃ krīṃ kālīkāye namaḥ
Then, verbally speak to Kālī and ask her to be present here and infuse her image/yantra with her life force. There is an option to draw a drop of blood from a finger with a lancet and place it on the dot in the center of the yantra while repeating Kālī’s mantra. Then make each of the offerings. Starting with the oil, anoint the yantra/image of Kālī with a drop of oil while repeating the mantra, then rub a drop of oil on the center of your forehead. The other offerings are made by waving them in front of the image/yantra while repeating Kālī’s mantra. Offer the food and drink and place them near the image, wave the candle(s) before the image and place the candle(s) in front of the image, burn some incense and wave it around the image a few times, and wave the flower(s) in front of the image before placing them near the image.
Take a few more long, deep breaths and allow any insights or visions to flow without forcing anything. Talk to Kālī, and ask her to help with any intention(s) you may have. Wait a moment in silence and see if you receive a response. When you feel the rite is complete, you may burn the piece of paper with the yantra on it in the candle if you have a safe, non-flammable receptacle (e.g. a ceramic plate or bowl) to place the burning paper into. Otherwise, you can hold onto the yantra for a while. Close the ritual with the following words:
So it is done!
Svāhā svadhā namo’stu te!
Put out the candles and incense. Food and drink that are offered to Hindu deities are blessed by the deity and may be consumed.
The final step in completing this ritual occurs when you watch the ritual video. We have aligned this group rite with the Full Moon of July 10, also called the Thunder Moon. According to a historical encyclopedia of weather:
The Thunder Moon is the name traditionally given to the Full Moon in July, a term rooted in the magic of various Indigenous peoples of North America, particularly the Algonquin tribes. The name derives from the increased frequency of summer thunderstorms in the Northern Hemisphere during this time, as the heat and humidity of midsummer create ideal conditions for thunder and lightning. The Thunder Moon marks a period of great atmospheric energy and natural upheaval, symbolizing both the destructive and renewing power of the storm. In the context of agrarian life, it was a time when crops were growing rapidly, but also vulnerable to the whims of the weather—a reminder of nature’s dual role as nurturer and ravager.
In magic and witchcraft, the Thunder Moon wields potent astral energy to ignite transformation, give protection, and release trauma. The elemental force of thunder and lightning is a magical spark—a manifestation of sudden insight, upheaval, or revelation. Practitioners who perform rituals under this moon often break free of personal limitations, banish negativity, and empower themselves with boldness and clarity.
The thunder itself is invoked as an elemental talisman of the gods’ voices or of ancestral spirits awakening, and so this moon phase is considered ideal for calling on ancestral guidance, charging talismans, or performing magick of destroying the old and birthing the new e.g., Kali.
As such, Keenan and I will have our ceremonies completed and we will send you our ritual videos by July 10, possibly a day earlier. I will contact you by email with the video files and they should become available in the online members area also.
The video will act as the portal through which all of these powers will enter into your life. In addition to completing the energetic circuit of these powers into your life, the ritual video will also provide you with essential channeled information as well as any final instructions for your ongoing immersion into the everlasting darkness of Kālī Ma.
On your end, you are welcome to simply watch the ritual video and chant the mantras along with us, or perform a full Puja Rite, given below!
We also recommend that you have a journal and pen or pencil, to take note of anything that is channeled, or anything that might be revealed to you during the course of the ritual. Often, these insights can be the most valuable extractions from these life-changing rituals!
Watch the ritual video on the Full Thunder Moon of July 10th, and follow along with us for your own unique guided ritual.
